Hello,
I trained as a Gestalt therapist with three training institutions in France and Belgium (Belgian Institute of Gestalt, Parisian School of Gestalt, French Institute of Gestalt Therapy in Bordeaux) and I work with adults and young adults seeking more meaning in their lives.
The 'Gestalt' approach (which means 'form' in German) is based on the assumption that the person is in constant interaction with the world around them and is continually affected (positively or negatively) by their environment. In this context, the aim of the therapy is to increase awareness through the experience lived in the session in order to find an adjustment suited to situations as they arise and are experienced. Over the course of the sessions, the other person’s emotional and bodily experience, as felt ‘here and now’, promotes transformation and the establishment of a certain fluidity of contact in everyday life.
With an initial multidisciplinary education in international law and labor economics, I have always had a strong interest in personal development. I have personally experienced many therapeutic approaches throughout my life, mindfulness, and I practice meditation. For the past 8 years, I have settled in Brussels after living and working for more than 15 years in various European countries as well as in Africa and the Middle East. This experience has made me particularly aware of issues related to the integration of minorities, gender, and migration.
What drives me is the desire to support people on their journey towards greater well-being in the world, while trying to take their history and environment into account in order to restore a certain fluidity in their social, professional, and personal interactions. I do not claim to know in place of the other; therefore, I favor a non-directive stance that encourages a joint exploration of the situation, greater awareness of the other’s lived experience, and the search for balance between personal and professional life.
My audience: I work with adults and young adults, as well as vulnerable groups, seniors, migrants, and LGBT people who are searching for what is essential in their lives. Those who are going through a difficult period of rupture or crisis that is causing suffering and who wish to change.
Format: Sessions last 60 minutes, in the form of a face-to-face dialogue, taking the time to pause, look at things more precisely, step back, and discover together other points of view on the situations experienced. The past may come up, but it is in the present that I propose we look at the traces that certain events may have left.
Ethics and Deontology: I am a member of the Belgian Gestalt Society (SBG), and my therapeutic practice is governed by the SBG code of ethics as well as by peer supervision.
