Presentation

My name is Caroline Horschel, and I am a psychotherapist in transactional analysis.
Transactional Analysis is my main working tool. It is a humanistic psychotherapy approach that constitutes one of the four major schools recognized by law. Its basic principle is that all human beings have their own value and that everyone can achieve autonomy in their life. I am convinced that we cannot choose everything that happens to us, but that we can always choose and decide what attitude to adopt towards these events. It is within our power to decide to change our acquired behaviors after becoming aware of them. The same applies to our wounds and suffering: we can acknowledge them and decide to change their impact on our current life. Psychotherapy based on listening, welcoming emotions, redecision and change will enable you to (re)take the reins of your life into your own hands. You can embark on a therapeutic journey in any life situation (expatriation, divorce, bereavement, domestic violence), stress, depression, anxiety, burnout, addictions, chronic or psychosomatic illnesses (e.g. fibromyalgia).
As far as I’m concerned, I am German by origin, Belgian by adoption, and European by conviction. I grew up in Germany before coming to Belgium, where I live with my partner and our three teenage sons. Having worked internationally and being an expatriate, I have always been an ambassador between different countries and cultures. Based in Walloon Brabant for the past few years, I offer consultations in French, German, or English. I am a member of the Belgian Francophone Association for Transactional Analysis (a member of the Belgian Federation of Humanist Psychotherapists) and of the Mental Health Professionals Platform (PsySM). I am also certified and accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF). I am committed to respecting the Code of Ethics of the European Association for Transactional Analysis (EATA) and the ICF Code of Ethics.
