Presentation
The approach of Gilles Schepens is deliberately eclectic, non-conformist, and multidisciplinary. It varies depending on each patient’s profile, the type of request, and the difficulties encountered. His practice remains centered on the individual and highlights the close links between thoughts, sensations, emotions, and actions. He does not hesitate to suggest films, books, television programs, or music listening as support to accompany or accelerate therapy.
His hybrid practice integrates hypnosis (new hypnosis, Ericksonian hypnosis, conversational hypnosis, and solution-focused hypnosis), EMDR, brief therapy according to the Palo Alto approach, transactional analysis, somatic experiencing (Somatic Experiencing according to Peter Levine), and philosophies inspired by Jung, Spinoza, and Nietzsche. His practice is based more on confrontation than on passive listening.
He was mainly trained in the United States (Palo Alto, San Francisco, Phoenix, Los Angeles), in Paris, and in Belgium. He is a lecturer and a specialist of Jordan B. Peterson, PhD, professor at Harvard, author and speaker. In particular, through the importance of archetypes and myths as guiding lights to orient oneself in the world.
Gilles Schepens emphasizes the importance of voluntarily taking responsibility in order to give meaning to life and thus avoid the trap of bitterness and resentment.
Because there are many ways to die content… or not.
