Hello to you...
my name is Raphaël and I would like to share on this page a bit of the journey that preceded our meeting. Since my early childhood, you could say that I was an observer of the relationships of the people around me. It fascinated me and I have always taken pleasure in games where the relationship prevailed over competition.
I could daydream for hours, telling myself stories starting from an element of the world around me. This world that changed regularly and enchanted me: my father, in his work as a researcher, travelled and took us everywhere with him... my mother first and then me; thus, conceived in the United States, I was born in Switzerland, then I successively discovered Sweden, Norway and finally France before returning to Belgium.
These character traits, these areas of interest, asserted themselves throughout my adolescence and into my first steps into adulthood. Daydreaming turned into the ability to put myself into a state of concentration, of self-hypnosis, which allowed me to explore an inner path, as present and meaningful as the world around me.
I did not limit myself to inner journeys: I went to the USA, to Canada, and later to England, not content with a reality restricted to a single culture. I turned toward studies in philosophy, the humanities, and communication.
These studies further stimulated my passion for the history of thought, and I wanted to go beyond the academic framework by feeding my learning with personal research, which led me to the discovery of ancient symbolic and energetic knowledge.
Without yet being aware of it, I was heading, inexorably, toward this path that became mine. The decisive stage for my vocation as a therapist – without this term being used at the time – was my entry into the world of associations.
This entry took place through the art of storytelling, which had become one of my passions. It was through working with a narrative framework that creativity became a tool both for me and for others; a way to connect, to discover, and to share interpretive keys tinged with symbolism.
First intuitively, then with increasing precision, I discovered the joy of guiding others towards reconnecting with their self-esteem. Thus, little by little, art therapy took its rightful place on my path. The bridge had been crossed: I immersed myself in learning contemporary therapeutic doctrines and discovered that my previous studies had prepared me for this.
Obvious links emerged between ancient and modern philosophy of thought, between the rediscovery of ancient knowledge and the practice of today’s communication methods. Quite naturally, the synthesis of all this and of my prior practice of art-therapy/storytelling led me to develop a personal therapeutic approach.
An approach that evolved through encounters and discoveries. Initiated into Reiki by my partner, I made this little extra my own and drew inspiration from it... I was slowly moving toward the therapeutic use of altered states of consciousness.
Hypnotherapy was a revelation, an obvious choice, the fulfillment of this personal therapeutic approach. During my training, and then in my practice, I realized that hypnotherapy was part of the continuity of ancient knowledge and methods practiced since time immemorial, and that, in the end, in practice I was returning to my first love: theoretical studies. The synthesis was complete. My choice was made.
This is what I now offer you: a tool that adapts to your request, to your expectations, and that is here to help you achieve your goals. A tool that has always belonged to you and that I am here to help you rediscover.
A tool that will change according to your requests or my discoveries. A tool that can also help you enrich your perception of reality in a philosophical and pragmatic perspective, conducive to making informed decisions. A powerful tool that makes it possible to untangle suffering, accomplish transformations, and build harmony.
