Presentation
I work on the basis of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and believe that people possess enormous inner resources and the ability to lead a fulfilling and hopeful life, even in the face of limitations.
About me
Over the last twenty years, I have continued my training in the field of psychology, earning a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology in Barcelona as well as a doctorate in Medical Sciences at the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology in Warsaw. I am currently accredited as a clinical psychologist in Belgium, where I run my own practice. I tailor therapeutic interventions to the needs of my clients. These include the traditional cognitive-behavioral approach (CBT) as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness training, and schema therapy. I have spent most of my adult life abroad, living in the United Kingdom, Spain, and Belgium. Therefore, I am familiar with the challenges people encounter along this path, both from a professional and a personal perspective.
Working method
Therapy begins with a discussion of the patient’s difficulties in an atmosphere of support and respect. This is followed by the identification of individual therapy goals. The psychological interventions used come from traditional cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as well as from “third wave” CBT. To facilitate the achievement of the goals, techniques from solution-focused therapy are also used. We may possibly take a step into your past and apply schema therapy techniques. The therapy process requires active participation in the sessions as well as completing homework assignments.
