I am Laura Herbillon. Clinical psychologist for adolescents and adults.
Graduated from the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Liège.
I have a specialization in adolescent psychology.
These beings in constant development fascinate me!
This in no way hinders my fascination for adult psychology.
On the contrary, it gives me a very specific point of view and allows me to approach it in a much more in-depth way, from its very construction.
I work with a psychodynamic orientation.
Whoever I am talking to, I make a point of creating an alliance between them and myself. It is essential that the person becomes aware that they can be an active participant in their own care.
You already have all the cards in hand, I simply help you become aware of them and use them wisely!
As Françoise Dolto so aptly put it: “Psychoanalysis is about helping people become who they are.”
It is also very important to me to respect each person’s own pace. Each person may need more or less time before feeling confident, before being able to let down resistances and barriers to their own story. I try never to force these barriers, but to cross them together when the person feels ready to do so!
Apart from professional secrecy, which is essential in my work, non-judgmental listening, without labels that would confine the patient to one psychopathology or another, is the last essential tool in my follow-ups. Everyone has their own story, their own journey that makes the individual who they are, and my job is to understand that journey, not to judge whether it is good or not.
