Presentation
Hello, my name is Michel Mommaert….
At 50, I am the father of a 16-year-old boy. I live with a partner. From an academic training point of view, I have a master's degree in clinical psychology, another in social psychology and a degree in family and sexuality sciences. I have completed many trainings (Ericksonian hypnosis, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, …) and I am gladly part of the third-wave therapies movement.
Moreover, experience (nearly 25 years of listening) and the passing of time have allowed me to integrate different ways of understanding the richness of human problems. Therapy will always be an encounter, and the latter cannot be reduced to theories, whatever they may be.
Each therapist has a vision of therapy. For my part, I see therapeutic work as a desire to open up the range of what is possible. It is undoubtedly about broadening the spectrum of our representations and therefore of the responses (of all kinds) that we are capable of giving to the surrounding environment.
While starting from who we are, valuing our skills, and knowing that we will remain who we have always been, we still have the possibility of gaining a greater margin for maneuver in life situations that are sometimes difficult.
