Presentation

I present myself as a professional in psychic functioning in its affective, cognitive, and interpersonal aspects, as well as in human behavior and personality.

The therapeutic objective I aim for is to help the person in distress know themselves better. This is in order to understand the origin of their difficulties and to be able to remedy them.
I approach the human psyche in its conscious and unconscious conflictual dimension by working on the present and past conflictual knots.

The therapy takes the form of clinical interviews, if possible on a regular basis, in which the patient and I interact while focusing on the “material” brought by the former, since they are the main holder of knowledge about who they are.

I receive a general patient base. Very often, patients come to my office following a referral from their attending physician.
The first three sessions are devoted to opening a dialogue, creating a relationship of trust, and understanding the problem brought by the patient. As the humanist Carl Rogers emphasizes, it is a matter of accepting the person as they are, in their entirety, and not passing value judgments on them…

I then look for the method best suited to the issue at hand.
This may be a psycho-dynamic approach aimed at greater inner autonomy and allowing access to the person’s inner experience, their deep desires, conflicts, and anxieties. This type of therapy is particularly suitable in cases of depression, severe anxiety, and a general feeling of malaise without an identified cause.
Whether it is a more behavioural and cognitive approach focusing the work on structured support and guidance for phobic, compulsive and/or anxious problems (commonly called OCD).

Whether it is the systemic approach, which makes it possible to consider the difficulties brought by the patient from a more interrelational angle, taking into account their relationships with those around them (difficulties in the couple relationship, children presenting various disorders…)

Whatever the approach used, my goal is to help the person regain good mental health, develop their mental autonomy and promote their social integration.

With regard to couples therapy, I work in co-intervention with psychologist Emmanuelle Dumoulin, who specializes in the systemic approach.
For this type of therapy, appointments are only made on Friday mornings between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m.
