Séverine Piret-Gerard

I have held a degree in psychology since 2002 and am accredited by the Belgian Commission of Psychologists.

I have drawn on more than 10 years of experience in various fields: support for victims within police services, for children and families within a family placement service, and for people in crisis within a mobile psychiatric team.

I am also trained in psychotherapy (brief systemic) and have been working in private practice since 2016. In order to address trauma treatment more effectively, I have additionally completed training in trauma therapy and conversational hypnosis.

For me, each course of therapy is unique and forms a genuine partnership between you and me. The most important thing is to provide you with the tools to help you mobilise your own resources towards greater well-being.

I first try to clearly understand your problem or what is causing you suffering today and invite you to define more concretely what you expect from therapy. From the information you give me, I try to identify the dynamic that is fueling your suffering. Most of the time, I will suggest exercises to do between sessions in order to help you see and/or experience things differently. We will assess the effects together.

All of this is done with respect for your pace and your limits. When your request is linked to a traumatic event or context, I use conversational hypnosis to support integration in complete safety.
