Presentation
I hold a PhD in psychology (Université Libre de Bruxelles, 2014), with a specialization in neuropsychology. I complemented my training with a program in child and adolescent psychotherapeutic clinics (ULB, 2017), in order to broaden my therapeutic tools for supporting children, adolescents, and their families.
Throughout my career, I have developed a practice grounded in a dual stance: scientific and clinical. I combine a rigorous approach to cognitive assessment with a fine-tuned listening to the emotional experience of the child and their family.
Neuropsychological assessment: understanding in order to better support
I offer intellectual and neuropsychological assessments when questions arise concerning the child’s development, learning, attention, or behavior.
An assessment makes it possible to:
- Objectify cognitive strengths and weaknesses (attention, memory, executive functions, etc.);
- Shed light on academic or behavioral difficulties;
- Formulate diagnostic hypotheses (ADHD, developmental delay, …);
- Guide care and propose appropriate accommodations at school or at home.
The assessment is a multi-step process, with times for discussion, standardized tests followed by a clear and supportive feedback session.
Therapeutic follow-ups: supporting the child in their development
Some children or adolescents, with or without a prior assessment, may benefit from targeted therapeutic follow-up. This work may focus on:
- Managing emotions, anxiety, impulsivity;
- Self-confidence and how one relates to failure;
- Executive skills (organization, planning, flexibility, etc.);
- Relationships with peers or family;
- The experience of an academic, social or personal difficulty.
The framework is flexible and evolving. I adapt to each young person’s maturity, sensitivity and pace. It may be short-term support or more regular follow-up.
Supporting parents: guidance and a space for reflection
Being a parent is not always easy, especially when a child is going through a difficult time. I offer parental consultations to:
- Understand how the child functions and better support them;
- Decode their reactions, needs, and emotions;
- Adjust educational responses according to the context;
- Move out of dead ends or feelings of guilt;
- Restore a calmer relationship with your child.
These meetings can be occasional or regular, and are intended for any parent looking for a space for listening, perspective, or support.
I offer tailored support in a professional, caring, and confidential setting.
