Presentation

My name is Véronique Cappeliez, I am 38 years old, a psychologist, married, and the mother of 4 children aged between 2 and 8 years old. I began my consultations in 2014, after obtaining my degree in psychology and educational sciences at the Catholic University of Louvain, specializing in cognitive-behavioral psychology (which seeks to understand our behaviors) and neuropsychology (which studies the brain, its wonders, its deficiencies, etc.).
Since graduating, I have supported several people through the diagnosis of dementia, as well as their loved ones (because close caregivers who are also going through this difficult stage should not be overlooked), by trying to find ways with them to adapt to the progression of the illness while continuing to live peacefully. I also organized occupational workshops in nursing homes, bringing art therapy into these end-of-life journeys.
With the discovery of my own married life, I also trained in systemic therapy to understand the family ties and systems that shape us, then in sexology and couple-related issues, which enabled me to support couples through certain stages of life together.
Becoming a mother led me to study child psychology, child development, and psychomotricity. I also deepened my knowledge in child neuropsychology in order to diagnose certain disorders, assess IQ to obtain speech therapy support, and assist children considered “different,” but who are, to me, unique.
With the year 2020 turning the entire world upside down because of COVID, and on my side, the birth of my 4th child, I completed a certification in Parental Burnout, because I saw many couples and parents around me struggling deeply in their lives, and I wanted to have new tools to help them get through this stage.
My professional journey leads me to meet people, enter their lives, understand their suffering, try to find its origin, and then develop solutions to initiate change and help them regain fulfillment.
Life is a path on which encounters, obstacles, and sorrows come to shake and disrupt us, sometimes from the very beginning of our lives, sometimes along the way, and often without us being able to prevent it. I regularly try to continue training and deepen my knowledge in order to have multiple tools to listen to, support, and help the people who entrust me with their problem(s). I am here to help overcome a temporary difficulty, implement a change, process a personal realization, soothe grief…
During my consultations, I offer individual, couple, and family sessions, during the day or in the evening; I try to welcome you into a peaceful place that I arranged myself, where you can take the time to talk, be yourself, think, and reflect; the sessions are teamwork, moments of sharing and kindness to heal what weighs on your mind, so that you leave with solutions and new goals.
