Emilie Catry Systemic Family Therapist
I have been a psychosocial practitioner since 2001 and a systemic family therapist certified by the CEFS (Brussels) and affiliated with Abipfs. My consultations are intended for children, adolescents and adults. I see individuals, couples and families.
I want to offer you the most welcoming and secure environment possible. Together we will untangle the difficulties you are facing, become aware of the various interconnections (groups: family, work, society) and the relational difficulties that result from them. Identify your resources to overcome these difficulties;
My areas of expertise lie at the crossroads of my training, and my professional and personal experience:
• Support through life cycles, crises, ruptures, repetitions, dependencies, transgenerational transmission,
• Person in a situation of physical and/or mental disability, and/or their parent
• LGBTQI questions (discrimination, homophobia, coming out, parenting, transphobia)
• Support with questions around emotional and sexual life
• Desire for children, questions of fertility, assisted reproduction, bereavement around these issues
Since 2001 I have worked in France with autistic children and adolescents with cerebral palsy, then in Belgium, in the youth welfare sector, with young children and adolescents. I have also worked in psychiatry in supervised apartments. In these various institutions, I have used the systemic approach, in particular by conducting family interviews.
Today, I am a psychosocial worker in supported housing for people with mild intellectual disabilities, Le 8ème Jour in Brussels. There, I also offer individuals and their families support in exploring questions related to affective and sexual life.
I also have experience with issues around the desire to have a child, assisted reproduction, and its support.
