Presentation
Who am I? I became interested in and trained in Systemic Psychotherapy, which works with different individual, couples, and family systems. It involves intervening in a creative and constructive way with an optimal understanding of the various beliefs and myths that could potentially make it difficult for a human and/or social system to function. I trained at the CFTF (Family Therapy Training Center) in Liège. I am a member of ABIPIFS (Belgian Association for Systemic Family Intervention and Psychotherapy) and EFTA (European Family Therapy Association). Consequently, I am in ongoing training through conferences and various courses in the field of mental health. For me, therapeutic work is more than a meeting between a caregiver and a patient, implying an asymmetry; it is a respectful sharing, an empathetic listening, and a co-construction in order to find, through reflection or deep meditation, a new meaning to one’s life by working through certain issues that prevent moving forward. I specialize in individual therapy, but also couples therapy and family therapy (parents, adolescents, children), each time with an adapted approach. I try to integrate playful, creative, and dynamic exercises into each therapy. One of my goals is to lead to a better understanding of oneself, one’s history, and one’s context, in order to discover one’s potential and use one’s “vulnerabilities” as an opportunity to rebuild oneself. As for my life path, I have had the opportunity to travel around the world. Born in Brazil, I then lived for 10 years in India, in the context of humanitarian work, where I met many individuals in suffering, in social injustice, and people in need, both physically and emotionally, relationally, and psychologically. My travels extended to Central Asia, Nepal, Tibet, Thailand, and other countries in Europe. This allowed me to get to know different cultures, to develop a more empathetic outlook, and also led me to perceive the sufferings, pains, and difficulties of life in another way. My strong adaptability, my experience, and my relational skills will, I hope, be qualities that could facilitate the therapeutic work towards another openness of mind. I can also offer consultations in English, Portuguese, or Spanish.
